The MG TC Midget helped lighten the mood of post-World War II Britain. MG had ceased production of its famous sports cars during the war years, converting its factories to produce tanks, planes and ammunition. But with victory secured, the nation that had survived the Blitz and rationing and was ready for some fun, and MG was ready to give it to them in the shape of the two-door roadster TC Midget and its lovably cheeky “Safety fast!” advertising slogan.
